Feinstein to California Voters: I Only Talk to Rich People
|SHOT: In a revealing response to a San Francisco television reporter, Dianne Feinstein gave yet another feeble excuse for avoiding a debate with her challenger, Republican Elizabeth Emken.
KGO-TV in San Francisco, the same station who captured Feinstein's infamous walk-out after being challenged about refusing to debate, reported on a video produced by the Emken campaign that uses Hollywood technology to put Emken in a “debate” with Feinstein – a debate that the 79-year old three term Senator had sought to deny the public as well as her opponent.
The entrenched incumbent, whose last televised debate took place 12 years ago, is now refusing to debate this campaign season because Emken isn't wealthy enough to be "credible," according to ABC7 reporter Lyanne Melendez.
CHASER: "The Feinstein campaign sounds more condescending and elitist with every lame excuse and now, apparently, they say she'll only talk to rich people'," said Mark Standriff, communications director for the Emken for U.S. Senate campaign, "Frankly, if campaign finance struggles were really a disqualifier, the $5 million that disappeared from Dianne Feinstein's campaign should have disqualified her last year. California voters demand accountability and transparency. They don't care about the size of a candidate's checkbook."
