Emken Statement on Final Campaign Finances
(ORANGE COUNTY, CA) - Elizabeth Emken, Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in California, today released the final financial report for her 2012 campaign. The numbers show that, in her first run at statewide office, the Emken for U.S. Senate committee raised over $1 million and finished the campaign with a balanced budget and no debt. Emken also finished with the best performance by a Feinstein challenger in the past 18 years.
Officially, the Emken campaign raised $1,112,077.53, with over 10,000 donors contributing $100 or less. Final Secretary of State records show Emken receiving 4,713,887 votes, which means her campaign spent less than 24 cents per vote.
"It was my goal to finish the campaign strong and I'm proud of the hard work we did to model the same fiscal accountability that I promised to bring to Washington," said Ms. Emken. "We maximized the vote with minimal resources, and made the most of our donors' contributions."
